I've gone through the exact same thing you have because the other church that I mention in this post is the church that I pulled my family out of this past summer and the other pastor I mention was and is the pastor there.

I felt like such a fool--like I'd been duped. I honestly thought I was the stupidest person on the planet. Then I remembered a few things.

1) God uses sinners to accomplish His perfect will. Even sin, somehow, does not thawrt the will of God even though God does not cause sin. Therefore, God was able to use this pastor (and Ed Young in your case) to speak His truth IN SPITE OF the messanger.

2) God is a God of providence. He uses circumstances in our lives to equip us to do His will. For instance, as hard and painful as it was to be in the situation with that pastor last summer, to have to confront him with his sin, if I had not been in that situation and had him yell at me "Don't you DARE walk away from me" I wouldn't be able to encourage you now. That makes it worth it.

Please feel free to email me if you'd like. joe.blackmon72@yahoo.comJoe Blackmonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05609279285784683781noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6544357985732366608.post-41292556599853887752010-02-22T13:47:28.296-06:002010-02-22T13:47:28.296-06:00Thank you for this post. Your post was an encouraging reminder to me that we do not need to be angry for the misdeeds against us because God will take care of the punishment for this greedy man. Unfortunately this doesn't completely heal the wounds, especially for those who don't know Christ and are now turned off at the idea of ever attending a church or, for those like myself, who followed Ed Young and was brought to Jesus by him....if he is a fraud then weren't his words also a fraud, even if they were teaching the Gospel? I find myself questioning my faith and everything I've learned at Fellowship Church. It's heartbreaking.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
